[postlink]http://youtubeforchange.blogspot.com/2009/08/volunteers-needed-help-spread-word.html[/postlink]Starting two weeks ago, we created a movement to help make a difference in the world. Using Youtube, and its 100 Million viewers, we want to spread awareness and spark inspiration. Something as simple as Youtube can change the world.

At the same time, we need help from you to help spread the word. We need volunteers to put our link in their Facebook status, AIM profile, Youtube videos or anywhere. Imagine if every time someone watches a video on youtube, they have the chance to visit our site and help make a small difference. Copy and paste the following: "A donation is made every time you visit http://youtubeforchange.blogspot.com/ Help make a CHANGE" anywhere you can. Upload this picture and make it your default on any social network you are a part of.

Volunteers Needed:
If you want to join the movement and help make a change, here is your chance. Send us a picture of you holding a sign that says "Be the CHANGE" and has our website's link on it. Be creative!

We would also love it if we could get a few youtubers to make a video comment for us. All you have to do is say "Be the change you wish to see in the world" and hold a sign that has our website link on it. Put it up on your channel for all of your subscribers to see and send us your link as well! And once again, try to be creative..or you don't have to if the creative juices are not flowing. Copy and paste this into the description: A donation is made every time you visit

I have always wanted to volunteer abroad while in college. I've wanted to do some humanitarian work because who knows how much time you will get once your career and life are set. Shawn is a graduate student from the University of Notre Dame who has taken a step in his life to make the world a better place. After listening to Dr. Jeffery Sachs speak at his school on September 14th, 2006, he was inspired to make the world a better place.

Dr. Jeffrey Sachs believes that extreme poverty can be eliminated in our lifetime. The power of this message inspired me to put school on hold so that I could do my part and hopefully inspire others along the way. I have come to Bangladesh to try and help the poorest of the poor. I am sharing this experience with the world through the power of YouTube.

I know that my little "uncultured" project is a drop in the bucket. But hopefully, the more people that be inspired to believe we can end poverty in our lifetime - the closer we can get to that goal.

This is just a montage of what I did in my first five months. Please check the other videos for more of what I have been able to do.

Aid That I Gave In This Video Include:
- 1 Long-Lasting Insecticide Treated Mosquito Net Donated by Vestergaard-Frandsen
- 2 Cases of Bottled Water to Residents of a Flood Affected Region
- A nutritional meal (including beef as a source of protein) for a large group of poor school children
- 1 windup flashlight given to a young student in the rural village who cannot afford electricity
- 50 Locally Made and Locally Purchased Mosquito Nets

Shawn has showed us that even an individual can make a difference. Do not be afraid to be the change you wish to see in the world. We will be following Shawn's journey of changing the world one step at a time so make sure to check for updates every week.[endtext]

[starttext]Not so much music but yet another really inspirational video that has made an impact across the world. Something as simple as giving a hug can make a person smile. It can make a person go from having a bad day to a better day. Something so simple has made an impact across the world. A man held a sign offering free hugs at a public walkway. Soon he got banned, but his simple deed had spread across town. People were outraged and together the Free Hug Campaign was born. It was a petition to lift the ban against free hugs. This outrage helped spread the word of free hugs across the world and people spread this simple gesture across the globe!

Song by the Sick Puppies.

[postlink]http://youtubeforchange.blogspot.com/2009/07/help-make-difference.html[/postlink]It has been less than 24 hours since this site has been launched and it has had over 5000 views, a number way higher than I expected for the first day. Please do your part and try to make a difference. The goal of this site is for people to listen to music about the state of our world, get inspired and be the change they wish to see. At the same time, every you come and watch a video or post a comment, we will donate as well. If this becomes a movement, and people all over are coming to this site, we can make some great contributions to help save the world one step at a time. If you can please, PLEASE, add our link to your Youtube videos and together we can make a huge increase in the amount we are able to donate.

[starttext]This song is actually a few years old by the Black Eyed Peas called Where is the Love. The Black Eyed Peas discuss everything that is going wrong in the world. The main message is "where is the love?" in the world that we live in. People need some guidance to help make the world a better place. So ask yourself, "where is the love?" and if you feel like its missing, are you playing your part by adding love into our world? If not, a task as simple of showing some love is the first step to change our world.[endtext]
